The number of residential plots granted in the Governorate of Muscat rose by 24.5% in August 2017 compared to the same period last year, it has been revealed.

Oman News Agency (ONA) reported, however, that despite the growth in Muscat’s numbers, the number of residential plots granted all over Oman actually declined by 12.5%.

It dropped to 19,505 from 22,299 in August 2016, according to the news agency.

Statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) also showed that 582 residential plots were granted in Muscat during the month. This brings the governorate’s 2017 total until the end of August to 2,081, which reflects a 38.8% increase compared to 1,499 for the same period last year.
