US burger chain Five Guys has opened its ninth UAE location, more than four years after opening its first branch in May 2015.
Boutique interior design practice Studio EM designed the American-style burger bar – its eighth store with Five Guys to date.
One desinging the new branch, Fahy said: “It's always a celebration in the office when we complete a new Five Guys, on the face of it, most people think: 'yeah, that's a pretty easy project, isn't it? It's just red and white tiles'. But in reality, due to the operations, the mechanisms in place to attain the quality of food and service that Five Guys have grown famous for, the design is probably one of the most complex and intricate that I have worked on.”
“There are so many fine details that a lot of people don't realise, and because the design is so 'simple' or appears so simple, there's nowhere to hide, so when we do open a new branch it's always a cause for celebration, especially with such a great team behind the project with Gary, Kerrie, Carolina and Razak,” she added.
The practice has a strong track record in restaurant design, having worked on outlets for Wagamama, Vineet Bhatia, Marco Pierre White, as well as individual projects like Acai Spot, Mighty Quinns, and Alchemy.
The Five Guys outlet in Dubai Festival City Mall is the eighth in the emirate and ninth in the UAE.
Commenting on the opening, Gary Turnbull, head of operations at Rise LLC, said: “We are delighted to open the latest UAE location in Festival City.”
Through working closely with Al Futtaim we have managed to secure a wonderful location that Festival City visitors can enjoy along with the many other attractions the mall has to offer. Our new team has been training hard and everyone within Rise LLC is extremely excited to open this beautiful store.
