Hyatt Place Dubai/Wasl District eyes Africa as key target market
According to officials, more than 31% of the property's guests are from Africa

Hyatt Place Dubai/Wasl District is keen on attracting a bigger share of the African market as hotel continues to receive a steady flow of guests from the region.

According to officials, more than 31% of the property's guests are from Africa and majority of guests were families who were spending their holidays in Dubai.

“Africa has been identified as an emerging market for tourism and we are seeing an increase in tourist arrivals from this region, whose growing middle class is now choosing Dubai as their holiday destination. The three Hyatt Place Dubai properties cater to the mid-scale segment because it offers an ideal mix that both business and leisure travelers will appreciate," said Sanjay Nambiar, cluster director of sales and marketing, Hyatt Place Dubai hotels.

According to data from Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Africa is one of the top 20 source markets for visitors to Dubai and represents 5% of the total 7.16 million international guests who arrived in the city from January to May of 2019.

Compared to the same period in 2018, there has been a significant growth of 27% in arrivals from Nigeria, part of western Africa.
