Crown Fine Art has opened an advanced, highly secure facility in Dubai’s much sought-after tax-free Jebel Ali Freezone, featuring first-class temperature control and 24-hour surveillance.
The global and comprehensive art logistics provider, offering state-of-the-art, specialist storage facilities, expert art packing, installation and logistics, says its new centre will also be home to collections of the British auction house Christie’s.
Christie’s is a key Crown customer that specialises in the sale of fine art, antiques and jewellery.
Known for being the region’s preferred fine art logistics company, Crown Fine Art’s facilities are the best in the industry – exceeding the region’s strict security requirements and incorporating ‘best-in-class’ safety measures and access standards.
“With the extreme temperatures and humidity experienced in the Middle East, it is vital that client artworks are well protected,”said Gus VanGeijtenbeek, regional manager for Crown Fine Art Dubai. “Our new warehouse facility is furnished with purpose-built racking, a viewing area and open spaces for large sculptures. It also offers a first-class temperature-controlled environment with 24-hour guard-surveillance and infra-red CCTV.”
This facility will be Crown’s second in the region, and the free zone location means that duty and VAT is deferred on import – saving collectors who buy from auction and then ship to another country 5% VAT.
“Crown Fine Art has a depth of expertise that cannot be matched – both geographically and technically – and this is reflected in the great variety of collections we have worked with, both with Christie’s and other organizations,” Gus added.
Consulting regularly on technical matters, Crown Fine Art’s specialists provide expert advice on unusual, complex and challenging logistics projects, including exhibitions, installation, packing, special handling and collection management.
