Dubai Women Establishment (DWE) and the Department of Economic Development (DED) will organise ‘Insta Hub – a platform for women e-traders’ from March 19 to 20.
The forum will discuss how female e-business owners can benefit from e-traders licences issued by DED to conduct business activities on social networking sites. It will show them how to market their products and services and reach a larger number of consumers inside and outside of the country.
The event will feature workshops conducted by experts and specialists from DED, talks by successful UAE e-business owners and an exhibition to showcase a range of products from entrepreneurs across the UAE, besides providing attendees with an opportunity to network with fellow entrepreneurs.
The event comes as part of a partnership agreement between DWD and DED to register 36 e-trader licences free-of-charge to women in UAE and the GCC who have established businesses on social networking sites.
The agreement was signed by Shamsa Saleh, CEO of DWE, and Omar Khalifa, deputy CEO of the commercial compliance and consumer protection sector in DED. The ceremony was also attended by Lamia Abdulaziz Khan, director of Dubai Ladies Club, Sultana Saif, corporate director of development and research at DWE and Maitha Shuaib, director of the corporate communications department at DWE
Saleh expressed her satisfaction with the strategic partnership signed with DED, and explained that the partnership comes in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, for government entities to enhance cooperation, exchange experiences, and implement best practices in order to serve the public interest.
