Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has won the ‘Best Employer Brand’ and ‘Best Cultural Environment for Learning’ awards in the Public Sector category at the LinkedIn MENA Talent Awards 2017.
The ceremony, organised by LinkedIn at the Four Seasons Hotel, Dubai, was attended by several DEWA officials, which included Marwan bin Haider, executive vice president of innovation; Dr Yousef Al Akraf, executive vice president of business support and human resources; Fatma Hamad Alsuwaidi, senior manager for knowledge management.
DEWA’s knowledge management department has collaborated with LinkedIn to promote a culture of learning among its staff.
According to a Dubai Media Office statement, over 2,000 DEWA employees have access to knowledge resources on LinkedIn Learning, one of the leading platforms for smart learning.
“It provides members with a library of over 10,000 pieces of content, including knowledge-based, training and quality management, and technology and innovation products from leading experts around the world. DEWA has achieved a benchmark in the MENA region in the average number of hours an employee spends in learning, at a rate of 90 minutes per week,” the release said.
H E Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and CEO of DEWA, expressed his delight in receiving this award.
