Mini Analog Pro signal conditioners from Phoenix Contact feature a bus and network connection and combine the benefits of safe electrical isolation with those of digital communication. The device can transmit up to eight field signals to industrial networks without error on less than 50mm overall width, without the need for signal-specific input cards. The modules are highly compat with an overall width of just 6.2m and provides data on all the conventional signal transmission functions, including analog, temperature and frequency. The new plug-in gateways digitize output this data, sending it directly from the interface level to the control system or PLC via a serial communication protocol such as Modbus or Profibus. The device can also combine up to eight signal conditioners with current or digital outputs, which is space saving.
Phoenix Contact has installed new active redundancy modules in the Quint product range. The single oring modules run the cable to the load redundantly and separately; and they, along with the new Quint Power supplies, are monitored continuously. The redundancy module will provide details about output voltages and the actual load and alert about defects in the wiring and the decoupling section. Critical operating states are therefore detected at an early stage. Using the modules saves up to 70% energy, thanks to active decoupling with MOSFET.
The modules are suitable for DC voltages from 12 to 24 V. They feature a narrow design of just 32mm and are suitable for use on DIN rails. Thanks to the wide temperature range from -40 to +70°C, they are suitable for industrial use. The active redundancy module with protective coating (plus version) also ensures superior system availability under harsh environmental conditions such as dust, dirt, corrosive gases, and 100% humidity. Thanks to OVP (overvoltage protection), surge voltages are limited to 30 V DC and downstream loads are protected against surge voltages.
Phoenix Contact has announced that it is extending its range of Managed Switches for automation tasks with new versions 2200 and 2300 in the FL Switch 2000 product range. They are suitable for the flexible construction of robust and failsafe networks in systems manufacturing, in the infrastructure and process industry, as well as in maritime applications. The switches can be used in Ex Zone 2 according to ATEX and IECEx and have shipbuilding approvals GL/DNV, ABS, LR, BV, and RINA. An extended temperature range of -40°C to + 70°C and redundant power supply also enable use under harsh ambient conditions. For a high data throughput, Gigabit variant 2300 is available. Just like the FL Switch 2000 product range, the new versions offer functions for easy and flexible startup. The switches have the necessary management functions for PROFINET and EtherNet/IP™ applications.
